Chapter 3 Part 1 Topic
Talk about grocery shopping in your family by answering the following questions. (2 minutes)
• Who usually shops for food in your family? What kinds of produce does she/he or do you often buy?
• WhWhere? In a supermarket or a neighborhood market? What’s it like? How many aisles are there? Are things expensive there?
Chapter 3 Part 2 Topic
Talk about your eating habits. You can include the following points in your talk. (2 minutes)
• What food do you like to eat? Why do you like it?
• How do you like it to be cooked? (fried炸/boiled煮/roasted烤, etc)
• How frequently do you eat it?
• Is it good or bad for your health?
Chapter 4 Part 1 Topic
In this chapter, you learnt about describing locations and facilities in cities. Now talk about what it is like in the place where you live by answering the following questions. (2 minutes)
• What are the errands you have to run every week? e.g. shopping for food/clothes, going to the bank/ cinema, etc.
• Is the place where you live convenient? e.g. Is there good transportation nearby? Can you walk to the places easily? Or do you have to take a bus/subway/taxi?
Chapter 4 Part 2 Topic
IIn pairs, talk about the advantages and disadvantages of living in big cities or small towns. Ask each other questions such as the following: (3 minutes)
• Is there a lot of smog in the city/town where you live now? What is the government doing to reduce smog?
• Is it very crowded in the city/town where you live now? How do you feel in a crowded place? And how do you feel in a very quiet place?
• Are people open-minded or conservative in the community where you live? Which kind of people do you prefer?
• If you have a choice, where would you choose to live? In the city or in the town? Why?
