Part 2: Paragraph Organization and Development [40 points]
Part 3: Writing an Essay [50 points]
● The total marks for this examlnation are 100 points. Timeallowed for completing this examination is 90 minutes.

Part l Vocabulary and Structure [10 points, 2 points each]
Questions l-5 are based on the following task.

Nanotechnology is the science of the small. Paragraph A.
For example, North Americans do not maintain eye contact during a conversation, however, South Americans do. A North American usually meets the other person's eyes for a few seconds, looks away and then back again. A South American looks directly into the other person's eyes and considers it impolite not to continue. Another difference is how they use hand movements while speaking. South Americans use many gestures. The North Americans use gestures only occasionally. North and South Americans are similar regarding distance between people speaking to each other. Unless it is a close friendship, the North and South Americans stand about two to three feet apart. It's often possible to know where a person comes from by studying his or her body language.

A recent study has shown that children watch an average of seven hours of television a day. This is a great concern to many parents. They worry that the violence on television will influence their children’s behavior. They also worry that the frequent commercials for unhealthy food will affect their children’s eating habits. Parents are, furthermore, concerned that television programs present false information that could be detrimental. What can they do? The solution to this problem is simple: Parents should carefully select the programs their children watch and limit the number of viewing hours.

In spite of all the frightening concerns, you can still receive many benefits from the convenient services that are provided online You just need to be very careful. You should know what information to give, how much information to give,and when and to whom to give it. After that, you can save time and effort and enjoy using such conveniences as credit cards, online shopping, or prepaid telephone cards.
